A woman is painted into the minaret of  Sidna Omar mosque, that dates back to the Mamluk Period of the 15th century. A pigeon is poised at her entrance, resting in the crack of the wall, framed by the darkness of the space within the minaret tower. The woman's hand is outstretched to the creature, a gesture of communion, collaboration and support. The pigeon glows as a dove might, a symbol of peace, offering us a glimmer of hope in the dark.

The piedgeon is a symbol of home and loyalty, this piece speaks of the the holiness of simplicity and the possiblity of peace in the region.
