A Jewish woman merged into King David's Temple Entrance in Jerusalem's old city, the 'mezuzah' painted into her arm, rendering her one with the sacred wall.
The question is: Is it the words upon a page that imbue the sacred or does the flesh that bleeds and burns represent the holiest of the holy?Who are we without the woman who cares for the home, the family and the creation of life itself?
The man made structures and written words may crumble and fall, but the beings that breathe with hearts that beat, are the life force that gives meaning to the sacred. Mama Mezuzaa is a simple piece aimed at communicating our ultimate home, within our body temple. That the prayer of the home, the mezuzah, may be reinstated in reverence to the Home Maker, that her autonomy over her body, what it wears, how it bears life, and how it looks, be hers and hers alone.
