A turkish woman, born into a culture of relative freedom but with undertones-come-overtones of Islamic oppression. She stands in mergence with a high ceiling of a mosque in Jerusalem, bare other than the golden shield of her Hijab, hiding her identity and adding a glimmer of modesty to her naked form. Completely body painted, one with the architecture, this piece questions the issue of the 'sacred' by contrasting holy institution with the bearer of life itself.
