This is a  lebanese woman who gre up in a religious household, excommunicated  for chosing to step away from the restrictions of her faith . She chose to be body painted into a part of the wall of Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, as a stand for Women. Life. And Freedom. And although her incentive did not come from a place of joy, here we celebrate the beauty of these ancient tiles through her own sacred temple; her body. In doing this we reaffirm our commitment to the cause of safety for all women in the world. We shall not hide, we shall not be silenced. We will stand tall and voice our call for an end to violence against women. For the celebration of humanity, Art, Democracy & Freedom.  Her message is simple - Women should never be controlled, oppressed or harmed in the name of religion.
